Screening out for Herzog!

Star of Sky 1's critically acclaimed crime drama 'The Take' & Ken Loaches 'Its a Free World', BAFTA nominated actress Kierston Wareing tells us about her work, lifestyle and of course, her addiction to Karin Herzog.

From what age did you decide to go into acting?

"Age 7"

How easy was the initial hunt for work?

"Very difficult"

Any early parts in soaps etc?

"My first job was one line in 'Eastenders' as Kat Slater's friend. I have been in the 'Bill' twice. I have been in the Oasis Music Video with Rhys Ivans and many more music videos in New York; one with P. Diddy but unfortunately I didn't get to meet him!"

We believe you almost gave the up the acting in America, why was that?

"I trained in the US at the Lee Strasberg Institute, I had a good response out there, it was here in the UK when I almost gave up after 10years of being a struggling actress. I came back from US as I missed home and I found it extremely difficult to get an agent, everyone turned me down, once I finally got an agent I was working on average twice a year on TV so I decided to train as a legal secretary for 2 years and then I was working in the High Courts as a clerk around my college course. I had 2 months left of the course after studying for 2 years and that's when I got an audition with Ken Loach and now I am a struggling Legal secretary lol."

How did you find out about the auditions for 'Its A Free World'?

"My agent called and said that Ken Loach would like to meet and then he asked me to come back to R.A.D.A the next day for an audition. I had to audition for the next 3 and half months for the part of Angie."

How was it working with Ken Loach?

"Fantastic, he is a genius and I learnt a lot from him, he is a very nice man. I will always thank him and his team for giving me the opportunity to break through in the acting field. Anyone who has the chance to work with Ken is in for a treat!"

How did it feel to be nominated for a BAFTA?

"I was nominated for a Bafta against Dame Judy Dench, Dame Elieen Atkins and that was very flattering to be up against two Dames and quite shocking; it took some time to sink in when I was told who I was up against at the Baftas. Dame Elieen Aktins got the Bafta which was well deserved as she is a great actress but yes I was very flattered and still am."

Any new projects of films in the pipeline?

"I have just finished a short film on 'Domestic Violence' called 'Leaving' which I am hoping is going to be shown during domestic violence week this year. I am filming at the moment in Prague with Ian Glen who is a great British actor, the film is called the 'The Unfaithful Klara' and then after this film I start the next British film called 'Fish Tank' but I am not allowed to see the script until the day or so before which sounds really exciting."

You must have a very busy schedule, what's your favourite 'past time' activity?

"I enjoy going out with my friends clubbing."

How often do you get the chance to spoil yourself and how

"I like to spoil myself once a month if I get the time. I like to have a Colonic Irrigation for a great detox and oxygen facial, in fact I believe Karin Herzog have a great facial which I am going to try next."

Herzog - Playing the part

As an actress, your skin condition is obviously very important, how would you describe your skin pre Karin Herzog?

"Since using the Karin Herzog oxygen cream my skin is a very even colour, before it was very uneven with redness, I swear by it!"

How did you discover Herzog?

"My mum loves beauty products and she told me to try this product as she has read a lot about it"

What Herzog products do you use?

"Vita-A-Kombi 2, Vitamin H Cream and the Dynamic Duo anti-cellulite kit. I have only been using the cellulite cream for 1 week and I am already seeing a drastic difference, one side is improving quicker than the other but it is fading very fast, so soon I should be cellulite free at this rate, which I am over the moon about! Before I forget I use the Chocolate Cleansing Cream which is amazing it really hydrates the skin and I really feel it keeps my skin looking younger. I am planning to use more Herzog products though, I just have to decide which one will be next to try. Maybe another body treatment!"

What difference has Herzog made?

"It has made a difference to my skin, it feels and looks great on my skin. My facial skin looks a very even colour and I do not need to wear foundation to cover any redness or uneven colour. The cellulite cream (even though I just started to use it) is making a huge difference at the moment as I am losing my cellulite fast - so that's one big difference."
